Prayer + Art

The Lord put in my heart to start a prayer + art gathering. The purpose of this group would be to gather with other God believing women who would love to encounter Jesus through prayer and art. My desire is to encourage you & myself to be in the word and in prayer daily because that is where we find hope & peace. Plus, our faith will continue to grow, and we will find joy in it.

So, what would you need to bring to our meetings? Your bible, watercolor or mixed media journal, watercolor or gouache pallet, watercolor brush and a willing heart. If you do not have supplies yet don’t worry. I would still want you to attend! I believe once you experience combining prayer & art then you will want to get your own supplies to keep and use during your own quiet time.

Just a little bit of how I started using art & prayer together: I was in need of Jesus because the enemy was trying to take my happiness away. At that point in life little things would upset me and my insecurities were many. Somehow, I discovered bible journaling, and that was game changing. I believe that Jesus met me when and where I needed him just as he met the lady at the well.

Know that our bibles will be open, and scripture will be read. We will have group & individual prayer time while adding color to a page in our journals. Each time we will read & meditate on a few bible verses. When it comes to the art part of it all, you will learn a new art technique to use in your journal such as wet on wet, mark making, monochromatic, and eventually combining them all together.

My prayer is that we would gather to encourage one another and build each other as shown in 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
